Driving While Intoxicated (DWI)

A DWI is Driving While Intoxicated; .08 Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) or higher or other evidence of intoxication.  It is a crime!  If you are arrested and subsequently convicted of DWI, Driving While Ability Impaired (“DWAI”) or Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs (“DWAI Drugs”) in New York State, you face serious financial and licensing consequences, and you may also be facing jail time.  In addition, if you are convicted of DWI, DWAI or DWAI Drugs, this conviction will appear on your driving record for 10 years and can result in a substantial increase of your automobile insurance premiums for years to come.
